This weekend marked next milestone in out garden – repotting day! After weeks of nurturing these young chilli seedlings under controlled conditions, it was finally time for them to stretch their roots into the rich soil of their new raised bed home.

As chilli plants grow, their root systems quickly outgrow smaller pots. Repotting gives them the space and nutrients they need to thrive, which is especially important during the early growth stages. A healthy root system means stronger plants, better flowering, and ultimately, a bountiful chilli harvest.
The Process
Each plant was carefully removed from its container, keeping the root ball intact to minimize transplant shock. You’ll notice in the photo above that the root structures were strong and well-developed — a clear sign that they were ready for the move.
We spaced the plants to allow for good air circulation and room for growth, and gave them a gentle first watering in their new home to settle the soil. The raised bed’s organic-rich mix is now their playground — and we’re excited to watch them take off!
What’s Next?
With the plants in the ground, the next steps include:
- Hardening off under natural sunlight
- Regular watering and monitoring
- Supporting early growth with gentle feeding
Stay tuned for updates as these chilli champions grow, flower, and fruit. If you’re curious about varieties or want to follow each plant’s journey (yes, they’ve got names!), head over to MyChilliGarden.com.
🔥 Tip: If your plants’ roots look like the ones in the photo — circling the bottom and holding the soil tightly — it’s a sign they’re more than ready to be repotted!
