Tomato Harvest

Most of our chillies haven’t ripened enough and are still left on the branches to soak up all the late summer sun, but have a look at the tomato. Our last harvest from a couple of days ago. Huge and tasty 😉

Tomato house

Now in late August when mornings are becoming foggy and prolonged leaf wetness is ideal for downy mildew to appear and ruin late summer tomato harvest. It happened to us last year :-/ So we have decided to build a tomato house fending off the morning wetness and extending the growing season. 😉

Italian Cherry Bomb

Our Italian Cherry Bombs soaking up all the sun they get and finally starting to ripen. With 2,500-5,000 SHU they are not that hot, but nevertheless a perfect for stuffing with goats’ or any soft cheese – a great addition to a spicy late summer dinner 😉 #growyourown #cherrybomb #chilli

Bolivian Rainbow chili flower

Bolivian Rainbow chilli flower spotted. It is a stunningly beautiful plant with all the colours of a rainbow, all on one plant. But there is more, with 30-50k Scoville heat units, that’s four to twelve times hotter than a jalapeño, so these good looking ornamentals also pack a surprising punch 😉
